After being stabbed in the back (literally), I had a long road to recovery ahead of me.

Rebuilding your strength from the ground up isn’t easy after spending a month in the hospital.

Once I got home, it was a low point—but I was deeply appreciative.

Appreciative of the fact that the knife wound came within millimeters of my spine, meaning I could’ve been paralyzed.

Appreciative that, because the knife punctured my lung, if I had arrived at the hospital just five minutes later, I wouldn’t have lived—I would’ve bled out.

In showing my appreciation, I felt a need to become as strong as possible.

This would be a long journey.

While in the hospital, I was intubated, connected to a ventilator through chest tubes, and underwent multiple surgeries.

When I was stabbed, it would’ve been easy to sit down, close my eyes, and never open them again.

Peaceful. Painless.

I didn’t feel the knife enter my back, but I did feel the life leaving my body. It’s a unique feeling—when you’re not tired or sleepy, yet you physically can’t keep your eyes open.

Dying is easy. Living is hard.

From the moment the doctors saved my life, everything was difficult and extremely painful.

I weighed 50 pounds less than before. It hurt like hell to sneeze or laugh. But at least I was home.

So where do I start?

There were things I wanted to do, but I wasn’t very mobile due to the scars.

The surgeries left me with large scars—about 100 stitches long—across my abdomen and ribcage. Those areas were tight, and if I didn’t push myself to stretch, I’d never regain normal mobility.

No matter how much it hurt, I had to stretch.

That started with movement.

But more importantly, it started with nutrition. My doctor told me to prioritize protein—especially whey, because of its power to support tissue repair, wound healing, and muscle growth.

I’d taken protein shakes before. But now I needed them more than ever.
The problem? I couldn’t stand the aftertaste. And I needed something I’d want to drink every day.

So I started experimenting.

I turned my shakes into smoothies—blending in real fruit, whole ingredients, whey protein and refining my recipes until they were not only effective but delicious.

No protein aftertaste. Perfect consistency. Absolutely delicious.

And most importantly—they worked.

I shared them with friends and family. They loved them too.

And eventually I thought—what if more people had access to this?

What if people on their own journey—whether recovering from injury, rebuilding their body, or just trying to feel better—had something easy, enjoyable, and effective to help them stay on track?

That’s when Shake Please was born.

I rebuilt my body with these smoothies.
I still drink them every single day.
Now you can too.
